An answer to the April 200 A to Z challenge
"And you expect me to believe that?"
"Believe it! It really happened!"
"C'mon, Iolaus, Aphrodite and Hephestus?"
"Don't look at me like that! It's true! Hephestus figured she would never want to be seen with him because of his deformities."
"Exactly why your tale is so unbelievable! She only goes for what she considers the best-looking. You've come up with some doosies in your life, my friend, but this-- "
"Fine! Don't believe me! I'll not say another word on the subject!"
"Great! My day's looking better all ready."
"Hey, big bro! How's it going?"
"I'm beginning to think I'll never hear the end of this... What do you want now, Aphrodite?"
"Just passin' through and thought Sweetcheeks could use a little back- up on this one. Get a grip, bro, 'cause he's right. Hephie and I are an item now."
"Kind of makes you want to apologize to me, doesn't it, Herc?"
"Let's not push it, shall we?"
"Major bad vibes, Hercola! What burr got caught in your breeches?"
"Nothing you need be concerned about."
"Only that when you were taking a vacation from being the goddess of Love, Herc tried to, shall we say, flirt with a pretty woman and she smacked him across the face."
"Poor Hercola! Well, I can remedy that! Who's this woman?"
"Queen Amalia of Thessaly! Can you believe it? Herc was flirting with a married woman!"
"Really, Iolaus! I was *not* flirting with her. She just misunderstood something I said, and with Aphrodite on 'vacation,' as you put it, she got more worked up."
"Sounds like you could use some lessons, bro! Sweetcheeks would be more than happy to instruct you, I'm sure! He sure did good with me and Hephie!"
"That's it! I don't need to take this abuse!"
"Ungrateful, isn't he?"
"Very. Oh, well, he'll get over it."
"We'll have to remedy that someday. Hercola needs another woman in his life. You know what they say, 'X marks the spot, over the heart.'"
"X never marks the spot, 'Dite. Not with Herc. The hero business doesn't allow much time for finding a woman you can grow old with."
"You want to tell me what kind of woman *you* would be interested in?"
"Ziggy!"
*Ziggy runs and ducks from the various items thrown at her*
