Who are we?
Illuminated Threads is a textile and needleart guild based in West Texas. Our purpose being to share knowledge of textile and needle arts that have been practiced throughout history and today . This includes weaving, spinning, quilting, embroidery, crochet, knitting, tatting or any craft to do with fabric, yarn or thread. Currently the guild is active in West Texas but fellow craftsmen from anywhere are welcome to join our mailing list and share their interest in the textile arts. Beginners and experts are welcome as is anyone in between. More information on the about us page including meeting times and locations, info about the Rolling Demo and how to join our mailing list.

Meetings in San Angelo - Free Motion Quilting Class - participation is not required. For those interested we have a dvd class we are going to begin. Each meeting in San Angelo, we will try to learn a new quilting pattern. Supplies you will need for this class are:
*1 yard of cotton fabric for the top (solid or not busy print - scrap may be used, doesn't have to match, it's for practice) that may be cut up into apx 9' by 12' squares
*1 yard of cotton fabric for the back (again may be scrap of any kind or pattern), batting (thin is best)
*Contrasting thread (you want to see your stitches)
*sewing machine with a free motion or darning foot (may be electric or not).

March 10-11, 2012 - Scottish-Irish Faire - Midland Horseshoe arena on I-20 - Demo and we are teaching 3 classes: Tartan weaving, hand pieced quilting, and Inkle weaving.
Mar 23-24, 2012 West Texas Heritage Days, Fort McKavett Or Visit Ft. McKavett Display and Demo.
