The Return

by Dreamwhisher

It was a cold, wet night in Corinth. Jason struggled to get out of bed. He opened his door and stepped into the corridors of the palace. No one was up at this hour of the night so Jason could easily sneak down the hall without being seen. As he reached Brianna's door it flew open and he was pulled inside.

"What the...?" Jason yelled as he was jerked into the room.

"Sorry Jason." Brianna replied looking down at the crown Prince.

She brushed back her blonde hair that had fallen over her face, hiding eyes like peridots. "Let me help you up." She offered reaching her hand out to help him.

Jason grabbed her hand and jerked, pulling her down to the floor with him. "Ahhh!" she screamed as she was pulled to the floor.

"Shh! Be quiet." The prince whispered. "Someone might hear you!"

"Yeah. Like who?" Brianna asked while lifting herself off the floor.

" Like me!" a short, redhead squealed from the doorway. "Iolaus, come here!"

"What is it Kylee?" he asked walking into the room unaware of what was going on.

"Nothing much. Just two little love birds playing a game of 'Tackle or be tackled'!" Kylee joked.

"Come on Kylee! Let's leave them alone. We need to talk!" Iolaus said very seriously as he took her by the hand. He took her to the steps that led to the courtyard. There they took a seat on a bench and stared up at the moonlit sky.

"Kylee," Iolaus said gazing into her baby-blue eyes. "What you said earlier in Pazmin, did you mean it?" She turned to him with a smile and sweetly said to him "Yes, I do love you. And I always will." Iolaus pulled her close and kissed her. "I love you too."

Brianna woke up to a warm, sunny morning. She had been stuck in the palace for three days because of rain and cold weather. Today, she decided to go into the market. Maybe I'll find something for my father. She thought aloud as she quickly threw on a long lavender dress.

Kylee awoke to knock on her door. Who could this be? Kylee thought while indolently moving toward the door. "Who is it?" she yawned. "Kylee, it's me. Brianna."

Kylee slowly opened the door. Brianna came into the room dancing. "It's a beautiful morning, isn't it?" she cheerfully said while falling back on the bed. Kylee looked out the window beside her bed. The sun was up and she could already hear vendors calling out to willful buyers. "Yeah, beautiful."

"Anyways," Brianna said sitting up. "I wanted to come see if you would like to join me in the market this morning."

"I don't think so." Kylee mumbled, almost falling asleep. "I'm too tired to move. Go ask Herc. He's been dying to leave the palace since the rainy and cold weather hit."

"Maybe I will." Brianna replied as she walked out the door, closing it behind her.

The market was crowded with eager buyers and sellers. Brianna and hercules had to fight their way through to get to the lake. They felt more comfortable there than in a crowded place like the market.

"Hercules, how long have you known Jason?"

"Well, I'd say about two or three years. Why?"

"Just wondering."

"He's a really nice guy."

"Yeah, I noticed."

As they approached the lake, the both fell silent for what seemed like hours. The two looked out and enjoyed the massive blue skies and lush green grass.

"You two go find Kylee and bring her back to me." The Pazmin leader commanded his followers. "Now! And do something to distract them." The two young Pazmins set off toward Corinth.

Hercules and Brianna decided to start back to the palace. The market was still crowded so it was a very slow process. People were bumping into each other and many fights were starting to break out.

"I think we should get out of here." Brianna said when she saw a fight start beside her.

"Yeah, and fast!"

The fighting had gotten worse and Brianna and Hercules were trapped. The place was so crowded they couldn't get through to the palace. Jason had sent his guards out to break up the fighting.

"Brianna! Hercules!" said a young man.

"Do we know you?" Brianna asked.

"No, but I have been sent to make sure the two of you return to the palace safely."

"Oh.." Hercules replied.

"Now if you will just follow me." The guard said as he turned in the direction of the palace. "By the way, my name is Kamden."

"Thank you, Kamden." Brianna chuckled at the sound of the unusual name.

*************At The Palace*************

"Prince Jason, I have retrieved your friends. I made sure they went through the fighting safely." Kamden announced as they entered the thrown room.

"Thank you, uh..."

"Kamden." Brianna informed holding back the laughter.

"Kamden, I give you my gratitude." Jason said smiling at Brianna.

"Thank you, Prince Jason." Kamden said as he turned and left the room.

"What's going on out there?" Jason asked.

"We don't know at the moment. But we are looking into it as we speak, Prince Jason." One of Jason's closet advisors said.

"Alright. Please let me know as soon as you hear anything." Jason said. "I'll be down in the courtyard."

Jason stood up and walked out of the room, followed by Hercules and Brianna. They walked down the hall and then down a flight of stairs. When they reached the courtyard Kylee and Iolaus were already there.

"Hi guys!" Kylee greeted.

Brianna ran over to Kylee and told her about what had happened in the market earlier. Jason, Kylee, and Iolaus listened attentively as Brianna made sure to include every detail in her story.

"Jase, maybe we should all go back to our rooms for the night." Iolaus suggested. "It doesn't sound to safe around here."

"I think you're right about the unsafe part!" Herc screamed in fright. They looked toward the palace walls to see two tigers leaping over the screams of his friends.

Brianna ran to the steps of the palace doors and waited for the others. The two tigers were not interested in Hercules, Jason, or Iolaus at all. They kept their eyes on Kylee.

"They're after Kylee!" Brianna screamed to inform them of the dire situation. The three guys rushed to where the tigers had Kylee trapped in a tree above the palace walls. Hercules picked up a log and struck the larger tiger sending it soaring across the courtyard. As it hit the stone wall that surrounded the palace, he turned into a young man. Brianna recognized him. "Kamden!" she shouted.

"Chryslianna!" Kamden called out to the other tiger. "Tell the others it's time!"

The tiger nodded as if it understood what it was to do and then jumped over the wall.

"Where is she!" Poulos demanded as he raised his hand to strike Chryslianna.

"She's going to stay where she is!" Kimi, a strong female Pazmin, called out. "And I'm taking over as the new Pazmin leader!"

"Says who!" Poulos sneered. "I AM the one and ONLY Pazmin leader!"

Poulos and Kimi engaged into a battle. Whoever wins the battle becomes the leader. But in order to win the battle the other Pazmin must be killed without using your powers.

Kimi threw a couple of punches at Poulos, but Poulos blocked each one. Poulos swung a hard punch at Kimi and she was knocked to the floor. Poulos gave out an evil laugh that scared even the Gods of Olympus.

"If I were you, I wouldn't be laughing." Kimi declared as she jumped up into a fighting stance. "It might give you a headache." Kimi gave Poulos a hard kick in the head. It sent him flying across the room, his head exploding against the hard brick wall.

"Ewww!" Kimi yelled as she turned to her loyal Pazmin followers. "From now on we will be peaceful with humans." Then she turned to Chryaslianna. "Chrys, go tell the Prince of Corinth that we will trade Poulos's dead body for Kamden. And take with you some fellow Pazmins to undo the spell that you put over the people of Corinth." Chyrslianna silently nodded and walked away. "Now, as for the rest of you here. Please go and release the prisoners that Poulos took captive."

"Yes, tell your new leader that we will accept her offer. We will have, uh.."

"His name is Kamden, Jason." Brianna informed.

"Oh yes, Kamden will be ready to leave by dawn."

Iolaus glanced at Kylee and smiled at her. She smiled back.

"Brianna." Jason said taking her by the hand and leading her to her room. "It's been a long day. But at least I am spending tonight with you."
